From 8c051af9319088dc5e61c8e21a6d3861d9aed983 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Bjoern Mueller Date: Wed, 22 Jan 2020 13:49:13 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] mingw: fix fatal error working on mapped network drives on Windows In 1e64d18 (mingw: do resolve symlinks in `getcwd()`) a problem was introduced that causes git for Windows to stop working with certain mapped network drives (in particular, drives that are mapped to locations with long path names). Error message was "fatal: Unable to read current working directory: No such file or directory". Present change fixes this issue as discussed in https://github.com/git-for-windows/git/issues/2480 Signed-off-by: Bjoern Mueller --- compat/mingw.c | 9 +++++++-- 1 file changed, 7 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/compat/mingw.c b/compat/mingw.c index 8ee0b6408e..941e11683f 100644 --- a/compat/mingw.c +++ b/compat/mingw.c @@ -1087,8 +1087,13 @@ char *mingw_getcwd(char *pointer, int len) return NULL; ret = GetFinalPathNameByHandleW(hnd, wpointer, ARRAY_SIZE(wpointer), 0); CloseHandle(hnd); - if (!ret || ret >= ARRAY_SIZE(wpointer)) - return NULL; + if (!ret || ret >= ARRAY_SIZE(wpointer)) { + ret = GetLongPathNameW(cwd, wpointer, ARRAY_SIZE(wpointer)); + if (!ret || ret >= ARRAY_SIZE(wpointer)) { + errno = ret ?
