It would be great to be able to add a tag the user specifies when clipping. I know there is a default tag, but if you can add tags like "food" or "car" or "javascript" then saved searches can find/organize clipped articles and this saves the user work in filing clipped material.

i liked the app and it is very powerful, but wanted a markdown based app for issue of obsolescence/lack of future maintenance.

It definitely would be a very great enhancement for productivity.
Here is what i do each time i clip something:

  • clip the page
  • open trilium
  • go to current day note (ctrl-D)
  • open the note i clipped
  • add my tags
  • go back to browser

Being able to just clip with tags would be a real time saver !

i have stopped using trillium so can't comment but if adding the tags isn't implemented than I'd say this would still be useful.

Hi, @pcause. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the Trilium team manage their backlog. I'm marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • You requested a feature to add custom tags to pages when clipping, enhancing organization and searchability.
  • @nil0x42 supported the suggestion, describing a multi-step manual process currently used to add tags.
  • The proposed feature aims to improve productivity by saving time.

Next Steps:

  • Please let me know if this issue is still relevant to the latest version of the Trilium repository by commenting here.
  • If there is no further activity, the issue will be automatically closed in 7 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
